A FALL CHILL IS IN THE AIR, and that means it’s time to winterize your outside water systems if you haven’t already done so. While we may have a few more warm days ahead of us, night time temperatures have been dropping, so it’s time to call your plumber, landscaper, or contractor.
GIVE SEALS SPACE: Seals are occasionally encountered on our local beaches. In most instances they are simply resting after swimming or avoiding predators. The Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine urges anyone coming across a seal to stay at least 150 feet away from it, allowing it the rest it needs before it returns to the water. If you think a seal is injured or sick, please report it to the MMSC at 609-266-0538.
DID YOU KNOW there have been many whale sightings off South Jersey beaches in the past few weeks? Whales are generally in the area until December, and can often be seen in the ocean or Delaware Bay as they pursue food sources. In addition to whales, dolphins can also be spotted in local waters, along with birds and other wildlife.
