PROPERTY AND MORTGAGE FRAUD are growing concerns around the country, but the Cape May County Clerk’s office offers a free service to help protect you and your property. By creating a free online account with the clerk’s office, you can then register your name and your property, and then receive an email alert if any documents matching your name or property are recorded. While the system doesn’t prevent fraud, receiving an immediate notification when a document is recorded allows you to take action immediately, as opposed to the fraudulent activity going unnoticed for months or even years. NEW PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT is coming to two Stone Harbor playgrounds. First up is the 97th Street playground, where new equipment will soon be installed. The 82nd Street playground is currently in the design phase, and according to the borough will “incorporate the latest play trends and fitness equipment, transforming it into a showpiece and destination playground for the entire community.” Outdoor games and activities will be set up this summer at the 82nd Street location while design and construction work are underway.
