AVALON was awarded a $1-million grant for a living shoreline project at Avalon Bay Park Marina. The $1-million grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation requires matching funds from Avalon, and will result in a 750-foot vegetated shoreline containing native and pollinator plants, a protective turtle barrier, and flood resistant curbing. Avalon Bay Park Marina will also see other improvements as part of a major renovation, including a new boat ramp and dockmaster building, new bulkhead, sidewalks, and parking area, and new piers.
